Holistic Substance Abuse Treatment in a Rustic Retreat
A physical, mental, emotional and spiritual transformation occurs during drug treatment at The Camp Recovery Center.
Drug and alcohol abuse takes a heavy toll on the body. While participating in our drug addiction program, you have an opportunity to re-evaluate your physical health and well-being in the safety of a clean and sober environment. Physical recovery begins with a safe and comfortable detox, if needed, and expert care from our renowned clinical director.
Our location in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains makes daily exercise an integral part of your physical and emotional healing. Conveniently located near San Jose, CA and surrounded by expansive lawns and 25 acres of forest, you can enjoy yoga, swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis, a gym and other amenities. In addition to regular exercise and a structured daily routine, you will enjoy a well-balanced diet made up of delicious and nutritious foods.
Physical dependence is just one facet of addiction. Once your physical dependence on drugs has been addressed, you will be ready to begin to heal emotionally and psychologically with a clear mind. Your days in our addiction program will be filled with opportunities to explore the reasons underlying your substance abuse and learn new coping skills through counseling, education, 12-Step work and other therapies.
It isn’t just drugs that wear a person down, but also the emotional pain that breaks the spirit. But the human spirit is resilient and can rebound given time and support. Through our addiction program’s 12-Step meetings and group counseling, you will gain the support of a network of individuals in recovery who understand the pain addiction brings. This sense of fellowship will remind you that you are not alone and open the door to a new outlook on life.
The 12-Step principles will encourage you to develop a spiritual connection and embrace your powerlessness over drugs and alcohol while our family program helps you rebuild relationships with those who are most important to you.
Types of Treatment
Drug Addiction Treatment Programs serving Santa Cruz & San Jose, CA
Located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, our drug rehab has programs designed to meet all of your needs, wherever you are in the course of the addiction cycle. Individuals who need the highest degree of structure are best suited for our residential drug rehab program. After gaining an initial period of sobriety, either at The Camp or elsewhere, patients are able to transition into less structured levels of care, including outpatient treatment and aftercare.
Detox at our Alcohol Treatment Center
For many individuals, recovery begins with detoxification to rid the body of drugs and alcohol. If a thorough assessment identifies the need for detox, The Camp will create a detox plan that may include medication to help ease the withdrawal symptoms associated with stopping the use of certain drugs.
Once stabilized, you will be ready to begin a structured drug treatment program that can bring together the emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of the recovery process. Our staff has an expert understanding of the science behind what happens to the mind and body during the first 30 days of sobriety. Because of the impact drugs have had on the brain, individuals in recovery can experience drug cravings months and even years after getting sober. The Camp’s goal is to provide you with all available resources to help you manage cravings without relapsing and maintain a healthy, drug-free life.
Residential Addiction Treatment
After detoxification, the next step is typically a 28- to 30-day stay in residential drug rehab. Removed from the pressures and temptations of life at home, residential addiction treatment at The Camp Recovery Center will give you a time-out from your life to focus on the work of recovery. We provide:
- group counseling
- individual counseling
- creative expression
- recreational therapies
- experiential therapies
- relapse prevention workshops
- continuing care plans
- exposure and involvement in the 12-Step philosophy
Upon completion of our treatment program, you will have the tools you need to stay clean and sober for life.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Patients in our intensive outpatient drug rehab program meet three times a week for a total of eight weeks to participate in education groups, group therapy, individual counseling, and other activities. We will also introduce you to 12-Step Recovery Groups. To learn how to cope with drug cravings and triggers, you will also receive relapse prevention and continuing care plans.
