Program Highlights

Detoxification Service
for the adolescent who:

  • Needs safe stabilization and relief from the physical discomfort of withdrawal
  • May need medical monitoring by a physician and a 24 hour nursing staff.

Residential Rehabilitation
for the adolescent who:

  • Cannot stop using alcohol or drugs without 24 hour supervision
  • Has continued to use chemicals despite knowing of significant negative health or social consequences
  • Demonstrates substance induced adverse emotional behaviors that are significantly interfering with the activities of daily living
  • Continues to use drugs and alcohol despite previous attempts to quit.

For adolescents who cannot stop using drugs or drinking alcohol on their own, a residential drug rehab program provides the support necessary to begin a new life. 25 wooded acres make THE MEADOW LODGE a unique and beautiful setting in Northern California for a new beginning.

The residential program offers the chance to find and practice new skills, enhance self-esteem and to learn to make responsible decisions. Both Detox and a state certified school provide additional support to recovery.

A structured daily schedule includes a variety of recovery-oriented activities, which may include counseling, group therapy, relapse prevention, education, 12-step meetings, art therapy, and recreational activities including swimming, volleyball, and basketball.

Intensive Outpatient
for the adolescent who:

  • Needs treatment and structure after school to prevent substance abuse and to promote recovery.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an alternative to residential/inpatient treatment for those adolescents (ages 14 through 17) who can commit to maintaining abstinence from all mind-altering chemicals while being supported by an afternoon program. It can also be an option for adolescents who have stabilized after inpatient treatment, but still need support and supervision as they transition back to school and activities of daily living. This type of treatment can be successful if the adolescent has sufficient family and social supports and demonstrates a willingness to engage the recovery process.

The adolescent counseling staff consists of dedicated and insightful chemical dependency specialists who are committed to providing the highest quality of care by embracing the values of integrity, compassion, responsibility and excellence.

Our commitment to successful recovery is exemplified by our continuing care program. Meeting weekly, the hosting counselor fosters group support for adolescent alumni while they address the varying challenges of staying clean and sober "one day at a time". Through this involvement, they come to realize that recovery can be not only rewarding, but also fun!

Aftercare (Continuing Care):

Continuing Care can be the most critical aspect of recovery. Without support, long-term drug and alcohol recovery is often very difficult, especially with adolescents. This is where the Camp excels - whether it is our outpatient and aftercare programs, or online treatment with teenGetgoing, the Camp has a continuing care, drug and alcohol treatment plan that's right for your teen-aged loved one.

Drug treatment must not only help adolescents to stop using drugs, but also maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Continuing care groups bring together alumni and families to share their experience, strength and hope. Online aftercare is offered in addition to the two locations in Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties.

Continuing to maintain positive, healthy friendships and to share ideas, dreams and difficulties ensure a good start to a new beginning.
