Reese Clark, LMFT
Clinical Director
Reese Clark, LMFT (they/them), is a clinical leader with over 17 years of experience in the nonprofit mental health field, guided by a deep commitment to equity, access, and service for individuals and communities often excluded from traditional systems of care. Reese’s career began supporting adults healing from sexual assault, where they learned the foundational practice of holding compassionate, steady space for profound trauma and resilience.
Over the course of their career, Reese worked extensively with adolescents and families, particularly youth impacted by complex trauma, dual diagnoses, child welfare involvement, and probation. This work shaped a strong clinical orientation grounded in relational repair, systems awareness, and developmentally responsive care. Reese later transitioned to adult services, first within the jail system, collaborating closely with custody, legal, medical, and psychiatric teams to support individuals in acute mental health crisis and during reentry. They then served in Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs—often described as a “hospital without walls”—supporting adults experiencing varying severities of psychosis through intensive, community-based care.
Most recently, Reese has returned to residential substance use treatment, serving as Director of Clinical Services at Azure, and currently at The Camp Recovery Center . In these roles, Reese develops and oversees clinical programming across the continuum of care, provides supervision and consultation to therapists and counselors, ensures regulatory and documentation compliance, partners with referral sources and insurance providers, and delivers staff training focused on clinical excellence, crisis de-escalation, and professional growth. Across all settings, Reese is known for cultivating strong clinical teams and fostering environments where both clients and clinicians can thrive.
In addition to direct service and leadership, Reese has long been dedicated to teaching, supervision, and mentorship, supporting associate clinicians and interns in meeting their licensing goals and developing ethical, grounded clinical identities. They hold an MA in Counseling and a BA in Psychology from Sonoma State University, are a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and have maintained clinical supervision since 2011. Reese is certified in Handle with Care de-escalation training and is currently completing certification in Brainspotting.
Outside of traditional western clinical frameworks, Reese’s private practice is informed by lifelong practices of somatic learning, indigenous healing modalities, and community ritual. They began their professional life as a martial arts instructor, developing a teaching style rooted in empowerment and embodied wisdom. Reese has completed a three-year program in indigenous healing practices, is training as a teacher in that lineage, and recently completed certification in facilitating community grief rituals adaptable across diverse settings. Reese believes deeply in the transformative power of grief, community, and meaning-making, and continues to witness the profound courage and hope present in those navigating change.
