Hector Abundiz, CADC II
Alumni Services & Aftercare Program Manager
Hector has been part of The Camp’s Team since 2017. He is the living embodiment of community spirit. With his vibrant personality and disarming insight, Hector empathetically navigates fear and resistance to reach the tender, emotional core of each resident’s issues. He effortlessly connects with people from all walks of life and helps them find the common threads that bind them together in recovery.
As both Aftercare Services and Alumni Program Manager, Hector is able to begin building rapport with clients early in their stay. He draws upon that deeply established trust to keep former residents accountable to themselves and fellow alumni as they take their first steps toward independence following graduation.
Emphasizing balance between internal and external support systems, Hector champions rigorous introspection and self-advocacy as the keys to success. Using his own personal experience, he strives to be a role model to others of what can come from living a life of honesty, self-compassion, and service.
