Elmira Abisheva, M.A., AMFT

Therapist

Elmira Abisheva, MA, AMFT is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting individuals navigating substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from National University and brings experience providing both individual and group therapy across outpatient, inpatient, and community-based settings.

Elmira’s approach is compassionate, client-centered, and trauma-informed. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, and strengths-based interventions to foster lasting recovery, emotional well-being, and personal growth.

Originally from Kazakhstan, Elmira offers a multicultural perspective and prioritizes creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. She believes meaningful change is built through connection, trust, and collaboration, and feels honored to walk alongside clients on their journey.

Outside of her clinical work, Elmira enjoys practicing yoga, traveling, spending time in nature, exploring California’s coastal towns, focusing on personal growth, and connecting with family and friends.
