Ariane Gerrard, M.A., AMFT, APCC

Therapist

Ari is an associate marriage and family therapist and professional clinical counselor who has been with The Camp since August 2024. She earned her associate’s degree at Cabrillo Community College, a bachelor’s in psychology from UCSC, and a master’s in clinical psychology from University of Massachusetts Global. She has worked as a health coach, a prevention and early intervention specialist for transition aged youth, an academic counselor for students with severe psychiatric disorders, as an equine-assisted psychotherapist, and more.

Ari has a person-centered, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. As an “eco therapist”, Ari uses the natural world as a platform for self-reflection and values the integration of naturalistic modalities like Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing), somatic experiencing, horticulture therapy, and animal-assisted interventions. She believes that mental health and addiction challenges are so prevalent in today’s age in part due to the disconnection from nature that humans are currently experiencing. She asserts that there is nothing “wrong” with the client; the client is not themself “a problem”. Instead, we are complex lifelong learners who are navigating complicated inner and outer worlds, and Ari is here to support you along your journey.
