Aftercare
Participation in a drug treatment program is an excellent start on the journey toward sobriety – but it is just the first step. Addiction is a chronic disease, similar to diabetes and heart disease, and success in recovery is an ongoing process. While treatment at The Meadow Lodge is designed to help teens build a strong foundation for recovery, aftercare is essential for teens to embrace a drug-free lifestyle.
Aftercare planning begins the day an adolescent begins treatment with us. Every adolescent leaves The Meadow Lodge with a unique aftercare plan in place, which may include a structured day or evening outpatient program, online addiction treatment with teenGetgoing, a sober living environment, or a specific plan for participating in alumni aftercare groups and 12-Step meetings in the community.
Alumni Program
Adolescents tend to be heavily influenced by their peers, both in positive and negative ways. When teens return to their daily lives after completing drug rehab, they will be confronted with triggers and temptations and will need the support of other teens in recovery who understand the challenges of sobriety.
Our commitment to successful recovery is exemplified by our alumni program. Each week, we bring together alumni and families to share their experiences, strength and hope. Through their involvement in the alumni program, teens come to realize that recovery can be not only rewarding, but also fun.
The Meadow Lodge’s Alumni Association supports its graduates through recreational activities that are scheduled throughout the year. The relationships our alumni form by sharing stories and enjoying sober activities are some of the greatest blessings that occur in recovery.
